What 3 P's??

Ok, so in class on Monday we were talking about dating and courtship.  One thing we talked about was what constitutes a date.  The three P's discussed by Elder Dallin H. Oaks in a CES Fireside describes this:
1. Planned for
2. Paid for
3. Paired off
Now when asking about the three P's, we thought of another set of three P's, except these three P's are in the The Family: A Proclamation to the World and those describe the role of the father in a family these are:
1. Preside
2. Provide
3. Protect
Now take a look at those six P's and compare them to each other.  They totally correlate:
1. Planned for on a date, they preside over the family and sustain the things happening
2. Paid for on a date, and provide for the family, now that's a direct correlation easily seen
3. Paired off on a date, and protect their family.  On a date he wouldn't let anything happen, same goes to his family.
This is one thing that has really stuck with me. I have never noticed how well they go together! This truly helps show how important a fathers role truly is.  The divine roles a man has set out for him need to be practiced very early on so that he can be the best husband and father possible.
